Home Page Countdown is a one-trick pony, but it does it well. All it does is keep track of the time and alert you when the timer reaches zero. You can enter an end-date into the topmost field (examples: "3 pm", "12:01 am tomorrow") or enter how many hours, minutes, and seconds you need in the bottom fields.
